Games of position, economy and intent

Preparation as part of play.

ARTICLE2 / 01Establish the shared information.
Before play, identify the public objectives, the resources each participant controls and the point at which the game ends. Everyone should understand which information is visible and which decisions remain uncertain.
ARTICLE2 / 02Use one representative example.
Demonstrate a typical exchange in Auric Exchange or a route decision in Meridian Lines. Explain both the chosen action and one plausible alternative. This reveals the system’s tension more effectively than reciting an entire turn sequence without context.
ARTICLE2 / 03Discuss the decision after the result.
Once the session finishes, separate the quality of a choice from the luck of its outcome. Ask which information would have changed the plan. That discussion gives the next session a purpose beyond repeating the same contest.
